BlechboxTalk ist ein einzigartiges musikalisches und moderiertes Talkshow-Format, das eine Gruppe von Künstlerinnen zusammenbringt, die aus verschiedenen Teilen der Welt und unter diversen Umständen den Weg nach Berlin gefunden haben.Trotz ihrer unterschiedlichen Herkunft teilen sie eine gemeinsame Leidenschaft für Musik und mussten zahlreiche Hindernisse überwinden, um ihre Träume in der Stadt zu verwirklichen.

Die Show untersucht, wie sich die Perspektiven dieser Künstlerinnen seit ihrer Ankunft in Berlin verändert haben und wie sie sich an die Herausforderungen angepasst haben, in der Stadt zu leben, aufzutreten und Musik zu produzieren. Von der Bewältigung der deutschen Bürokratie bis hin zur Suche nach bezahlbarem Wohnraum in einem wettbewerbsintensiven Markt teilen die Künstler ihre Erfahrungen und geben wertvolle Ratschläge für andere, die einen Neuanfang in Berlin erwägen.

Die Gäste wählen ein bis zwei Lieder ihres Repertoires aus, die sie mit der Stadt oder den Themen des Abends verbinden. Diese werden von Cassette Head Sessions vorbereitet und mit der Band zum ersten Mal gemeinsam vor Publikum  zwischen den Gesprächen gespielt.  Die von Candaş Baş (Constanza Macras Dorkypark /Volksbühne u.a.) moderierte Show zielt darauf ab, durch die Musik eine Verbindung zwischen den Künstler*innen herzustellen. Die Band und die Moderatorin fungieren als Brücke und ermöglichen hoffentlich ein tiefes und humorvolles Gespräch, das in einer Jam-Session gipfeln darf und Gäste und Publikum zusammenbringt.

Ziel der Veranstaltung ist es, der Entmenschlichung von Künstlern, die am Rande der Gesellschaft leben, entgegenzuwirken, Stereotypen in Frage zu stellen und die Akzeptanz in der sprichwörtlichen Mitte der Berliner Gesellschaft zu fördern. Das veraltete Image von Berlin als „arm, aber sexy“ hat längst ausgedient.

Wir alle kennen und gehören zu irgendwelchen  Blasen. Wir verbinden damit unterschiedliche Erfahrungen und Gefühle, sei es das Gefühl von Zugehörigkeit, von Schutz, von Vertrautheit, von Wärme, von Enge, von Zwang, von Druck oder von Ausgeschlossen sein. Mit diesem Theater-Performance-Projekt wollen wir diese Vielfalt an „bubbles", und unsere dazugehörigen persönlichen Erfahrungen und Gefühle unter die Lupe nehmen. Ziel ist unsere - zumeist ambivalenten - Beziehungen zu diesen verschieden „bubbles“ offen zu erforschen und zu reflektieren. Im Austausch miteinander wollen wir uns spielerisch, künstlerisch und ko-kreativ von diesem Thema inspirieren lassen, um Neues für uns zu entdecken und zu teilen.

ab 20h: 24h-PERFORMANCE "How can I get to Tampere from here?" von Vilma Sippola und Eeva Rajakangas

Die Seglerin Mary Lee Johnson ist 26 Stunden lang in einem Container auf dem Berliner Alexanderplatz gestrandet und hat einen Traum: Sie will die finnische Stadt Tampere perfekt verkörpern und muss sich dafür entschleunigen und in den "Tampere-State of Mind" versetzen. Eine Nacht und zwei Tage lang wird sie sich bemühen, ein langes, perfektes Tampere-Frühstück zuzubereiten, zu servieren und zu genießen. Das Dauerstück beinhaltet Audio, Essen und Unterhaltung.

BlechboxTalk is a unique musical and moderated talk show format that brings together a diverse group of artists who have found their way to Berlin from different parts of the world and under various circumstances.  At first glance they don't seem to have much in common other than music and the fact that they've had to struggle to find a flat in the city before.

The promise of the city versus German bureaucracy, lonely  bed room productions on subrents in 13 m2 shared rooms versus club communities, concerts on the subway versus gigs at Columbia Halle.

The show explores how these artists' perspectives have changed since they arrived in Berlin, and how they have adapted to the challenges of living, performing, and producing music in the city. What good and bad experiences have they had (stereotypes, gatekeeping, racism, etc.)? What advice would they give to people who want or need to start over in the city?

We would like the focus of discussion in this group to be on musical creativity in relation to the environment that they helped to create and that shaped them.

Therefore we will add some components:

The guests select one or two songs of their repertoire to perform with Cassette Head Sessions or on their own. Hosted by Candaş Baş, the show aims to create a connection between artists through their music. The band and host act as a bridge, facilitating a deep and humorous conversation that culminates in a jam session, bringing guests and the audience (hopefully) together.

We're also inviting one person who grew up and was born in Berlin, Lena Stoehrfaktor, and one who is currently considering moving to Berlin, Zion Flex (Vienna AU /Bristol UK).

The event seeks to counteract the dehumanisation of artists who live on the fringes of society, challenging stereotypes and promoting acceptance in the proverbial centre of Berlin society. The image of Berlin as "poor but sexy" is so outdated, and BlechboxTalk aims to showcase the vibrant and diverse cultural scene that exists in the city today.

The activists are getting tired of teaching – so let them just play and chat with each other!

We all know and belong to circles of some kind. We associate different experiences and feelings with them, it can be the feeling of belonging, of protection, of familiarity, of warmth, of confinement, of coercion, of pressure or of being excluded. With our theater performance project we want to focus this variety of "bubbles“ and on our personal experiences and feelings connected to it. The goal is to openly explore and reflect our - mostly ambivalent - relationship to these different "bubbles". In exchange with each other, we want to be playfully, artistically and co-creatively inspired by this theme in order to discover and share something new

A sailor, Mary Lee Johnson, has stranded into a container for 26 hours in Berlin, Alexanderplatz. She has a dream: To perfectly embody a Finnish city called Tampere. To do this, she has to slow down and to make herself feel at home in “the Tampere-state of mind”. During the one night and two days, she will try hard to prepare, serve and enjoy a long Perfectly-Tampere-like breakfast. The durational piece includes audio, food and entertainment.
